the physicality of motherhood

I love the physicality of motherhood. My baby is 6 months old and I love being a part of his sensory, bodily world. Rolling on the the floor with him, I stroke and pat his soft doughy belly, I snuggle and caress his warm little body, I kiss and nuzzle perfect soft cheeks. I love the way his body can be held and moved a thousand different ways. I am rewarded in my mothering with the kisses he bestows when I hold his drooly wet pink lips to my cheeks, his exuberant laughs and smiles, and his blissful purring contentment when you shovel a spoonful of baby food apricots into his mouth. I love my little boy!

1. being mother
2. capturing a moment
3. baby boys

NOTHING makes me baby hundry. Nothing.
But this little guy (and his fab hair) make me think it wouldn't be so bad.
i can't look at him without smiling!

you know I meant to say baby HUNGRY!

hey LL no one makes more typos than smartmama- feel at home here- Its not about the spelling its all about the klutsy fingers- you'd think i'd have fine motor skills
spell check is overrated-- as long as the thought is generally communicated - its all good- remember i used to be a teacher- I am totally down with invented spellling- LOL

I am loving the 6 month age. My little one sits up and plays with toys without falling over too often. Now I just have to rid the floor of the choking hazards (ie magazines, legos, and debris).

I'm amazed at his long dark hair. Where did that come from? He's very cute. I'm sad I can't get closer and just squeeze him--he looks very squeezable.

I love all these things too. Makes me sad I may never go back to that time.

Off topic, for some reason your blog updates are not showing up in my bloglines. Very strange. I'm glad I thought to check your blog.

I love him too. He reminds me so much of baby Hayden. They have the same hair and sweet face. Sigh...I need a new baby! Who does he look like? I stare and stare and I just can't tell?
